Ever since I attended the “Sing-a-Long Messiah” at Lincoln Center 20 years ago, I was inspired to create something as impactful with powerful Hebrew themes. Not to compare anything to the awesomeness of Handel’s Messiah – but I’m hoping my new work “The Days of Awe” will feel grand and reflect the meaning, heart and soul of the Jewish High Holy Days. Writing for Cantor/Choir/Orchestra is a challenge I love – and some of the work I had composed for the High Holidays including the new “Kedusha” I co-wrote with Cantor Magda Fishman, are included. I’m also so honored that the “Neila Finale” has been used by several Cantors including Cantor Shira Lissek, who premiered it at Park Avenue Synagogue in NY, and has plans to release it on her new, upcoming CD.
I’m really looking forward to some exciting projects coming up this year. On deck is a brand new CD with original tracks in English and Hebrew. A sneak peak of titles include: “Broken Open”, “Adon Olam”, “Tribes” and many more.
