“Will anything stop this rain?”
Ice and fire, drought and flood
Homes slide off into the mud
Will all our sunsets be ablaze
as we search through the smoky haze
to find our good intentions?
“I guess I’ll have to be twice as strong…
I’m a cowgirl.”
“Won’t somebody please explain?”
This place is hostile to me now
I fight the field, wield the plow
I fuel my ire, feed my art
with pieces of my broken heart
Perhaps best not to mention…
“Is there anything half as strange as a
cowgirl in a hurricane?”
